I'm super inspired by this film! As a believer in the power of documentaries, the promise of psychedelic science and the magic of Rick Doblin, I'm putting up a $30,000 matching challenge grant. If we can collectively raise $30k in the next two weeks (by August 8th), I'll match it dollar-for-dollar, giving the production another $60k. If we meet this challenge, the team can finish editing the first act of the rough cut and set aside $30k for critical upcoming filming… including the possibility of MDMA being rescheduled as soon as this fall! I've been an enthusiastic supporter of this project since meeting Nirvan and learning about it at PS25. I have donated $135k so far and am inspired to donate more to keep the momentum going. The 2023 FDA decision rejecting MDMA for PTSD was devastating, not just for Rick and MAPS, but for the broader movement for legalization and therapeutic access. What happened there exposed how fear, stigma, and institutional cowardice can still derail life-changing science. The human cost of that failure is profound, and I'm glad this film will face it directly and honestly. This story matters, Rick's work matters, and the reckoning this film documents is an important one.
